In the final non-conference game of the season, the Minnesota Morris men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision Tuesday, Oct. 23, at St. Olaf in Northfield.
The MIAC school was in control offensively throughout. The Oles tallied their first goal just before halftime in the 43rd minute. St. Olaf's Folarin Bandele scored both of the Oles' goals in the second half with goals in the 56th and 72nd minutes.
St. Olaf outshot the Cougars 25-6 with a 15-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Despite allowing three goals, Jake Peterson made a season-high 12 saves in net for the Cougars.
The Cougars have clinched a UMAC tournament berth, but their seed is yet to be determined. UW-Superior clinched the No. 1 seed and St. Scholastica is the No. 2 seed. Crown College is the No. 5 seed.
UMM and Martin Luther are in competition for the No. 3 spot and a bye into the UMAC semifinals next Wednesday, Oct. 31, at St. Scholastica in Duluth. The No. 4-seed team will host Crown Monday, Oct. 29. Both teams are 6-3-2 in the UMAC. Martin Luther wraps up the regular season against Northland (0-11 in UMAC) Saturday, Oct. 27 while UMM hosts UW-Superior (10-0-1 in UMAC) in the regular season finale Saturday, in Morris.
