Senior Alex Keller scored early for Minnesota Morris and the Cougar defense kept Crown off the scoreboard in a 1-0 win Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Cougar Soccer Field in Morris.

Keller's goal came in the 10th minute of the contest. He picked up a loose ball from just outside of the box and laced a shot into the right side of the net for the early Cougar advantage.

Both teams had chances throughout the remaining 80 minutes, but UMM's Jake Peterson and Crown's Eli Etzel stood their ground to keep their respective teams in the contest.

The Cougars outshot the Storm 14-9 and held an 8-1 edge in shots on goal.

Minnesota Morris (2-6-2, 2-1-1 in UMAC) finishes off their four-game homestand Saturday, Sept. 29 when the Cougars entertain North Central at 4:30 p.m. The Cougars travel to Crown Tuesday, Oct. 2 and Bethany Lutheran Saturday, Oct. 6.
