The Minnesota Morris men's and women's cross country teams got back on the course Saturday, Sept. 22, at the St. Olaf Invite in Northfield. The men finished in sixth place while the women placed ninth.

Out of 112 male runners, UMM's Ryan Anderson came in 17th place to lead the Cougars with a time of 27:34.7 over the eight-kilometer course. Tyler Sassenberg was six slots behind Anderson with a 23rd place time of 27:45.1. Benjamin Barnack (28:57.3), Gabriel Davila (28:58.8), and Raymond Abraham (29:00.9) finished three seconds apart from each other to round out the Cougar top five.

For the women, Katherine Novak delivered the Cougars' fastest time on the morning with a clocking of 24:21.5 over the six-kilometer course, good for 24th place. Alexa Yeager had the next best Cougar time of 26:14.3. Paige Stearns (26:28.0), Arre Langer (28:15.5), and Jacqueline Schneider (28:16.2) rounded out the Cougar top five places.

The Cougars next compete Friday, Sept. 28, at the Bethany Lutheran Invite in Mankato.
