The Minnesota Morris women's golf team picked up its second runner-up performance of the season as the Cougars placed second at the North Central Invitational Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Les Bolstad Golf Club in Falcon Heights.
St. Scholastica bested the six-team field with a team score of 383. The Cougars were safely in second with 402 with Bethany Lutheran carding a team score of 427 for third place.
Payton Sierra had a top five finish for UMM as her score of 95 was good for a tie for fifth place. Meghan Foley placed in the top ten with a ninth place score of 98. The three other Cougar golfers placed in the top 20: Kaya Quinn (102, t-12th), Skylar Tumbleson (107, 16th), and Brittany Lormis (113, t-19th).
Orion Collins was the lone Cougar male to compete Tuesday at the NCU Invitational in Falcon Heights and he represented the team well. His score of 76 was good for a fifth-place tie among 33 golfers.
With Thursday's Cougar Invitational postponed due to rain, the Cougars are next scheduled to compete Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Northwestern Invitational in Minneapolis.
