Memorial services for Maxine Hohn were held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church in Kensington, Minnesota. Father Peter Kirchner will be celebrating the mass. A visitation was one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Shirley Maxine Rorvig was born on a farm near Cyrus, Minnesota in New Prairie Township. Maxine was raised on the family farm in Nora Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. Maxine attended country school District #28 in Nora Township through the 8th grade, she then continued her education at Cyrus High School, graduating with the class of 1948. That same year, on December 14, 1948, Maxine was united in marriage to Lester Hohn. They made their home on a farm where they worked together and raised their three children. In addition to helping on the farm, Maxine worked in the housekeeping and laundry department at the Hoffman Nursing Home in Hoffman for 23 years.

Maxine was a member of Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to the Farwell Coffee hour on Wednesdays and going to dinners with her friends. She also liked venturing into town to the nursing home to participate in the exercise groups, and to enjoy coffee while visiting with the residents. Most of all, Maxine loved the outdoors, whether she was mowing lawn or helping with chores and fieldwork, she was always a part of whatever was going on.

Maxine died peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, she was 91 years old.
