Ronald E. Houde, 71, of Benson, MN, died Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Swift County Benson Health Services. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at Hanny’s Bar & Grill in Benson. Opening Prayer will be held at 1:00 PM, followed by a time of sharing. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are preferred to Kids Fishing Foundation, 31258 600th Street, Millville, MN 55957.

Ronald Eugene Houde was born December 20, 1948 in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Lloyd and Nellie Henrietta (Meinert) Houde.  He grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School. On February 5, 2000, Ron was united in marriage to Lynn Diane (Flaten) Nash at Treasure Island Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Ron loved fishing, hunting, card playing, and traveling.

Ron passed away February 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  He is survived by his wife, Lynn Houde of Benson; children: Cleo (Les) Olson of Emerald, WI, Janet (Rolle) Mason of Williston, ND, Erik Stauffacher of Menomonie, WI, Dixie Stauffacher of Vergas, MN, Corey (Dina) Nash of Champlin, MN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother, Nellie Henrietta (Meinert) Houde; siblings: Lou (Mike) Hanson-Odegaard of Charlotte, NC, Julie (Gary) Landmark of Benson, MN, Marsha (Larry) Williams of Benson, MN, and  Lisa Anderson of Benson, MN; brothers-in-law: Gary (Gail) Flaten of Elk River, MN and Kurt (Patty) Flaten of Princeton, MN; many nieces and nephews; numerous friends and business associates.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lea Adel Ebnet; father, Lloyd Houde; brother, Steven Houde; father-in-law, Vern Flaten; brother-in-law, Wayne Flaten; and nephew, Aaron Landmark.  Blessed be the memory of Ron Houde.
