Funeral services for Colleen Rentz of Morris, MN was a private family service. A public burial was on Friday, October 2, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Morris.

Colleen was born on July 7, 1926, in Morris, MN to Francis and Lola (Hayes) Manney. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated from Morris High School in 1944. Colleen then went onto nursing school and graduated from St. Gabriel School of Nursing in 1947 as a Registered Nurse. She continued to pursue this passion and help many people for the next 40 years. She was united in marriage to Delmar F. “Bud” Rentz on February 5, 1948 by Father Fearon at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. The couple made their home in Morris for the next 54 years. They were blessed with seven children: Stephen, Daniel, Thomas, Paul, Patricia, James, and John. Colleen also worked as an RN for Stevens County Hospital in Surgery, and after, worked for Morris Medical Center until she retired. She spent the last 4 years of her life at the Legacy.

Colleen was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Assumption Church Christian Mothers, St. Patrick Mission, Befriender’s and GFWC Women’s Service Club. Her hobbies included traveling, cooking, baking, nursing, shopping, and being involved in the community. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, whether that be at sporting events to support her grandkids, or baking cookies and caramel rolls for the whole family. She adored her family and life in general. She will be greatly missed as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend by many.

Colleen passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Legacy at the age of 94.

She is survived by her children: Stephen (Wanda) Rentz of Mankato, Daniel (Nancy) Rentz of Apple Valley, Thomas (Carol) Rentz of St. Cloud, Paul (Joyce) Rentz Morris, Patricia (John) Jackson of Belle Fourche, SD, James (Laura) Rentz of Morris, and John (Kathy) Rentz of Granville, OH; 18 grandchildren: Michael (Leslie) Rentz, Brian Rentz, Sheila (Nathaniel) Reynolds, Sara (Matt) Nowacki, Kelsey (Pete) Christenson, Mark (Ashley) Rentz, Leslie (JW) Starrett, Grayson (Sarah) Rentz, Colette Rentz, Patrick (Jana) Rentz, Elizabeth Rentz, Christopher (Hope) Jackson, Matthew (Choi) Jackson, Mary (Sam) Meacham, Andrew Rentz, Kaley Rentz, and Riley Rentz; 24 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Jane Manney Watzke of Scottsdale, AZ, Dorothy Manney Pasch of Redwing, and sister-in-law: Mary-Ann Manney. She is preceded in death by her husband: Delmar F. “Bud” Rentz; her infant son: Michael Hayes Rentz; parents: Francis and Lola (Hayes) Manney; and her brothers: Bill Manney and John Manney.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Assumption Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Catholic School, and the Steven’s County Relay for Life.
