Funeral services for Ardis Gullickson of Morris, formerly of Donnelly, will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Donnelly with Reverend Rochelle Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church and burial will be at Vinger Cemetery.

Ardis Harriet Anderson was born on June 29, 1930, in Roseville Township, Grant County, Minnesota to Ernest and Blanche (Hidde) Anderson. Ardis grew up on the family farm near Hoffman where she attended District #59 Country School and then Hoffman High School. Following high school, she attended one year at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis before returning to Morris where she started her career at the Morris Hospital. On August 28, 1954, Ardis was united in marriage to Gordon C. Gullickson at Bethel Church in Hoffman. They made their home in Milbank, South Dakota and later a farm near Donnelly, where they raised their three children: Julene, Karalee, and Vance. In addition to being a housewife, she continued her job at the Morris Hospital, especially enjoying her work in the nursery. Gordon preceded Ardis in death on July 19, 1992; she continued to live on the farm until 2014 when she moved into West Central Homes in Morris.

Ardis was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Donnelly. She loved her church and being a nurse. She was a supportive farmwife, a hard worker and an amazing person, mother, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, (even lutefisk!), baking, crocheting, watching Minnesota sports teams and the Weather Channel, and celebrating holidays. She will be fondly remembered by her children and grandchildren for the numerous Christmas sugar cookies they ate and the special baby blankets that she made for each of them.

Ardis died peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Courage Cottage in Morris, she was 91 years old.

Ardis is survived by her children: Julene (Gary) Brown of West Fargo, North Dakota, Karalee (Gary) Wawers of Fargo, North Dakota, and Vance (Kim) Gullickson of Morris; nine grandchildren: Stephanie (Brent) Mestery, Scott (Jamie) Brown, Matthew (Caralyn) Wawers, Jenna Wawers, Anthony (Amy) Ekren, Abbie (Mitch) Fehr, Alexis (Terrance) Fish, Carly Gullickson, and Bo Gullickson; 22 great-grandchildren: Peyton, Proscovia, Ritah, Edward, Elena, Eden, Everlee, Thomas, Quinn, Monte, Maddie, Mylie, Marty, Cooper, Cambrie, Alton, Annabella, Andon, Aubriel, Kaylen, Kinze, and soon-to-be baby Fish; sister, Audrey Anderson of Morris and brother, Eugene Anderson of Hoffman. She is preceded in death by husband, Gordon; an infant brother; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Anderson.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, MEMORIALS PREFERRED TO THE COURAGE COTTAGE IN MORRIS.
