Baseball: Tigers fall to 6-9 in home finale

Montevideo's Colby Buseman gave up 11 hits, but kept Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta to two runs in 6-1/3 innings to earn a narrow 3-2 victory in the West Central Conference game Thursday, May 16, in Morris.

The Thunder Hawks scored two runs in the fourth inning to take a narrow 2-1 lead and made it 3-1 in the sixth and didn't look back.

The Tigers threatened in the seventh, scoring once in the inning, but Jackson Snell buckled down and got the last two outs for Montevideo to walk away winners.

Zach Bruns, Cade Fehr and Kevin Asfeld all had two hits in the game.

The Tigers, now 6-9 on the season and 2-8 in the West Central Conference, closed out this week at Minnewaska Friday, May 17, in Glenwood. Next week, they close out the regular season with three road games. Morris/C-A will play a rescheduled game against BOLD on Monday, May 20, in Benson, then travel back to Benson to play the Braves Tuesday, May 21 before closing out the regular season at Lac qui Parle Valley Thursday, May 23, in Madison.
