“There is nothing that brings people together more than pizza,” stated Joe W. Comes of Comes Investment, the new owner of the Morris Pizza Hut. Mark Hauder, Operational Partner is a co-owner in the property.
Comes grew up in a Pizza Hut family and states that he played in the dirt as they were built, opened new stores, remodeled stores and did whatever was needed in Pizza Huts over the last 40 years. He still has his original Pizza Hut name badge to prove it.
He purchased the Morris franchise in mid-February of this year. He owns 30 franchises throughout Iowa (15), Minnesota (13) and South Dakota (2). Two more in Minnesota are in the pre-construction phase as well.
The Morris Pizza Hut has been undergoing major remodeling since February. The interior will have “The Classic” feel which is a throwback to the late ‘70s. There are Tiffany style lights, red checkered tablecloths, the infamous Galega and Pac-Man arcades are back and a new Classic Logo. New exterior wood has been put on and the interior has been painted. Landscaping is planned for this spring. Pizza Hut Pete has been added to the decar so people can use him for selfies or social media posts. There is now a “Pizza Pete Selfie Wall.”
