The Minnesota Federation of County Fairs Convention was held January 14 – 16, 2022 at the Double Tree Inn, Bloomington, MN. At this convention, over 1000 county fair people from all over Minnesota met to attend informative workshops and to seek entertainment for their respective fairs. Several members of the Stevens County Fair were in attendance.
During this convention awards are given for best promotional items, such as premium books, posters, scrapbooks, and schedules. Fair persons of the year are also honored. This year District 7 fairperson of the year was Justin Howe of Morris. Counties that are in this district are: Big Stone, Chippewa, Douglas, Grant, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Pope, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Stevens, Swift, Traverse, and Yellow Medicine.
The Stevens County Ag Society met for it’s Annual Meeting in November 2021. Appointed to the Executive Board were: Ryan Sleiter, President, Steve Storck, Vice-President, Ryan Anderson, Treasurer and Mary Hill, Secretary. Members-at-Large are Marty Flicek, Les Kopel, and Judy Johnston.
The Stevens County Fair dates are August 9 – 14, 2022 and will have “Lot’s to do in 2022”.
