Asmus will start March 11. She will replace Vicki Day who will retire on March 14.
Becky Young, county coordinator, updated the board on the status of other open position in the county.
Young and human resources coordinator Jan Gomer were in the process of interviewing candidates for a human resources generalist.
The application window for assistant county attorney closes on March 11. Current assistant county attorney Elizabeth Kirchner's last day is March 8.
Young said she expected to have more information for the board on that position at the March 19 county board meeting.
The board did approve adding retired Morris Police Chief Ross Tiegs to the county's bailiff roster. Tiegs would be able to work in the courtroom and transport prisoners, Young said.
