Open to the public interviews for Morris Area superintendent candidates set

The interviews for the finalists of the Morris Area School District superintendent are open to the public, school officials said at the March 18 school board meeting.

Applications for the position close on March 26. After that, the superintendent search committee of school board members Mike Odello, Anthony Ekren and Jennifer Goodnough will select candidates for interviews scheduled at 4 p.m. April 5 and at 9 a.m. April 6 in the elementary media center.

The second round for semi-finalists starts at 12:45 p.m. Monday, April 8, in the high school media center.

Staff and community members can attend a question and answer session with the candidates at 4:05 p.m. April 8 in the high school media center.

The full school board is scheduled to act on a recommendation for hire from the superintendent search committee in a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. April 9.

Superintendent search committee and school board member Mike Odello said non-search committee school board members can meet the finalists on April 5 and 6 and ask them questions.

Odello said the search committee would like volunteers from the board to help with community tours conducted for the semi-finalists on April 8.

Superintendent Rick Lahn will retire on June 30.
