UMM students win third place in solar video contest
For the last three years the Clean Energy Resource Teams have sponsored a Minnesota Solar Video Contest at the Minnesota Solar Energy Industry Association's Midwest Gateway to Solar Conference.
The video "Solar in Morris" by Syd Bauer and Sam Yuan, students at University of Minnesota Morris, won third place in the contest, information provided by UMM said.
The first place video "Let's Go Solar" was made by Fernando Saldivia and Alan Zheng, Students at Carleton College in Northfield. The second place video "Project Earth Solar Panels" was made by Isabel Dunning and Natalie Swanson, Students at Edina High School and members of the Project Earth Club.
The fourth place video"The Future Energy Gang" was made by Marley and James.
The videos highlighted various proposed or completed solar projects in the state. The "Solar in Morris" video showed the solar panels at UMM and discussed the proposed solar panel project at Morris Area Schools. The high school's robotics team is spearheading the school district solar panel project.
Bauer and Yuan will donate their prize money to the robotics team.
