UMM names Hussain finalist for VP position
Nayyer Hussain, an official with Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York, is a finalist for the position of vice chancellor of finance and facilities at the University of Minnesota Morris, the office of communications and marketing said.
A public meet and greet for Hussain will be from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the Common Cup.
Hussain is a senior vice president of finance and administration/chief executive officer for Rockland, according to a copy of his resume provided by UMM. Rockland is part of State University of New York system. Hussain had a lead role in securing financing for an ongoing esetimated $34 million 324-bed student housing and fitness center, his resume said. He also supervises an annual operating budget of $85 million.
Before becoming a senior vice president, Hussain was a vice president of finance and administration/CFO at Rockland from 2013-2016..
Hussain has also served in two interim finance roles at two universities, his resume said. Hussain was the interim vice president of finance/CFO from 2011-2012 at the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande, Ohio. He was also the interim vice president of financial affairs/CFO at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, from 2009 to 2010.
The other two finalists for the UMM position are Bryan Herrmann, who is the interim in the position now at UMM and Kevin McGaughey who is the executive director of budget and finance for the College of Extended Studies at San Diego State University in California.
