Commissioners decide to approve $1 million to build daycare pods

The Stevens County Commissioners officially decided at their meeting on July 19 to award $1 million to the Apollo Development Company to build six daycare pods in Morris. The commissioners also discussed making a decision at their next meeting about donating either $400,000 or more to the Hancock Daycare group who also submitted a request for the funds. These will be funded through $1.3 million in ARPA funds that the commissioners set aside to address the daycare crisis in the county.
