MORRIS, Minn. — A teenager from Montevideo has died following a head-on crash Monday, July 8, south of Morris.

Madeline Noelle Gorham, 18, was airlifted to a hospital in Fargo where she died of injuries sustained in the collision, the Minnesota State Patrol said Tuesday.

She was driving a 2014 Ford Taurus and was northbound on Minnesota Highway 59 when she struck a Minnesota Department of Transportation truck that was working along the shoulder of the highway near Stevens County Road 8. Her vehicle then entered the southbound lane where it was struck by a southbound semi.

The crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. Monday.

The other two drivers were not injured. The State Patrol identified them as Robert Eric Kloos, 53, of Morris, who was driving a 2005 Sterling DOT truck, and Charles Fredrick Green, 65, of Breckenridge, the driver of the 2006 Freightliner semi.

Life Link air ambulance, the Morris Police Department, Morris Fire Department and Stevens County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol at the scene. The crash temporarily closed Highway 59 to traffic in both directions.
