Update: Crash with multiple injuries involves Hancock school van

HOLLOWAY – The Swift County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash between a Hancock Public School transport van and a semi at a rural intersection north of Holloway.

There were reports of numerous injuries, according to a news release sent Monday evening by the Sheriff’s Office, and many responder units were sent to the intersection of 30th Street and 130th Avenue Northwest.

No other information was immediately released.

West Central Tribune readers reported seeing helicopters landing near the scene.

The Hancock High School boys basketball team is playing in a Section 6A game tonight in Moorhead. Some fans and head boys coach Cory Bedel were aware of the crash before the start of the 7:45 p.m. game.

Bedel said the crash “was pretty serious.”  The game was scheduled to be held, but if there was a crash-related death, the game would be postponed until Wednesday night.

Steven County Times reporter Brooke Kern contributed to this story.
