The Morris Area School District lost another fifth grade teacher when Kacie Partridge resigned.

The school board approved her resignation at the June 17 meeting. A copy of Partridge's resignation letter included in the meeting packet said she was taking a job closer to her family. This is the fourth fifth grade teacher to resign in two years.

Joe Boedigheimer resigned at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. Hannah Grimely resigned earlier this year and Caleb Greene resigned several weeks ago, both effective at the end of this school year.

Teachers Jill Dybdal and Tina Bauleke return to the fifth grade staff for 2019-2020. The district has also been able to hire teachers with experience for the two other position. Abby Weick and Chelsey Oachs each have more than five years of teaching experience, elementary school principal Shane Monson said in an email response to the Stevens County Times.

"Experience can be very beneficial with significant changes in a grade level," Monson said. "We have been fortunate to attract experienced teachers, as well as hire some rising stars."

The board also approved hiring teacher Scott Gonnerman for another elementary position. The board packet said Gonnerman is has 26 years of experience as an elementary teacher.
