Volunteers plant trees at history museum
The city of Morris has planted about 1,000 trees over the past 20 years, said Tom Holm, one of the organizers of a May 21 tree planting event.
The city along with volunteers continued the tradition by planting several trees on the lawn of the Stevens County Historical Society and nearby boulevards.
"What better way to celebrate Arbor (Month) then by planting trees?" Holm said.
City employees dug the holes for the planting and volunteers, including city tree board members and employees and historical society. Girl Scouts and community members planted trees.
