Stamp Out Hunger collects 6,636 pounds
Postal carriers in Morris collected the equivalent of 6,636 pounds of food during the Stamp Out Hunger campaign Saturday, May 11. Postal customers left non-perishable food, cash or checks for postal carriers to pick up that day.
The amount includes the actual pounds of food donated and the donated monetary amount translated to pounds of food that can be purchased. The total is 1,000 pounds more than in 2018.
The food and money is donated to the Stevens County Food Shelf.
