The West Central Research and Outreach Center has provided the daily maximum and minimum air temperatures, 24-hour precipitation amounts for this week, and growing degree units. These values are recorded at 8 AM and reflect the conditions for the previous 24-hour period (8 AM to 8 AM) at the West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris MN:













Cool and wet weather with blizzard conditions persisted this last week.  Record-breaking snow fell on April 12 measuring 7.5 inches, beating the old record set back in 1951. 

So far in April, WCROC received 13.3 inches of snow and 1.47 inches of precipitation.  Average temperature for last week was 31.2 °F, the average for this time is 42.1 °F. 

Last year the average temperature was for this week was 30.8°F.  So far we have accumulated 10 growing degree days in April.  Frost depth on April 15, 2019, was 17 to 27 inches.  Last year we had recorded 0 to 27 inches of frost on April 16, 2018.  So far, small grains have not been planted in the area as we continue to wait for field work to start.
