Because of the weather conditions the Stevens County Highway Department anticipates it will not resume plowing county roads until the weather conditions improve which is expected to be Friday, April 12, according to a post on the highway's department's Facebook page.

The post also said driver should use extreme caution if you must travel. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibility are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.

The area is under a blizzard warning until 10 a.m. Friday, April 12. Three to five inches of snow with wind gusts of about 50 mph are predicted for today, April 11, and an accumulation of five to eight inches of snow through tonight. Wind gusts of about 40 mph are predicted for tonight.
