Prairie Pioneer Days will move to September in 2019.
The Morris Area Chamber of Commerce board decided at this week's meeting to move the festival from July to the weekend after Labor Day in September, a chamber news release said.
The festival has existed for more than 30 years and at one time was a September festival.
The chamber board decided it would be best for the community, local businesses, and the growth of the festival to return Prairie Pioneer Days to September, the release said.
The chamber has been gathering public input for 18 months. Food vendors, craft vendors and businesses that have events during the festival also provided input, the release said. That input was used to help decide on the September move, the release said.
Prairie Pioneer Days will be celebrated on Sept. 7 and 8 next year.
