Open for exhibits at the fair

Julie Maanum and her aunt Irene Strand were among the dozens of adults and children bringing projects to the open class exhibits on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Stevens County Fair.

"We done this the last couple of years," Maanum said. "It's fun to get together and dream up ideas."

The two Morris women had boxes of various items including baked goods and hand-crafted items.

"She has a lot more stuff for the fair," Maanum said. Strand has a tradition of bringing embroidered dish towels to the fair.

"I learned how to embroider from my teacher in third grade," Strand said.

The fair continues today with the open beef show at 2 p.m., the 4-H rabbit show at 6 p.m. and the Denco II skid steer rodeo and ATV barrel race at 7 p.m. The animal fest, the Los Moralitos Circus will perform throughout the day.
