Kicking off the fair: Kill wins trip, Farm Family, Tonic Sol-fa

The Stevens County Fair kicked off Tuesday, Aug. 7 with a fair appreciation supper at the Lee Community Center in Morris.

Paula Kill won the button drawing (#246) for the trip to New Orleans announced at the supper. The Feuchtenberger family received recognition for being named Farm Family of the Year for Stevens County.

Tonic Sol-fa performed Tuesday to kick off the grand stand events.

On Wednesday, Aug. 8, all food stands officially open in the fairgrounds at 10 a.m. It's Open class entry day, which runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Homemakers entry is from 7 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday events include: Open Beef Show at 2 p.m.; 4-H Rabbit Show at 6 p.m.; The Strong Man show (TBD); and the Denco II Skid Steer Rodeo / ATV Barrel Racing at 7 p.m. in the grand stands.
