Donnelly News

Welcome to part two of my annual graduation edition of the Donnelly News. This week I have graduates from other high schools and higher education.

Joint services will be held at Kongsvinger on June 17, and at St. John's on June 10 and 24 at 9:30 a.m.

On June 11 the Donnelly Fire and Rescue will sponsor a Bike Rodeo at 6 p.m. at the community hall. All ages are welcome. Don't forget your helmets.  Their monthly meeting will follow at 7 p.m. The Donnelly Community Club will meet about 8:30 p.m. on June 11.

The Donnelly Rod and Gun Club Fishing Derby is planned for June 17 starting with registration at 9 a.m. on Pomme de Terre Lake public access.

The Donnelly Community Club is looking for volunteers to be in charge of the white elephant sale, the car show and the kiddie parade for the Threshing Bee. If interested contact Corrine Kruize at 246-3337.

Jim and Bonnie Fabian of Herman passed away on May 31 and June 1. Survivors include Bonnie's mother Pearl A. Anderson of Morris, formerly of Donnelly, and her family, and his sister Joan (Rick) Strand of Donnelly and their family.

2018 graduates include Skylar Hurlbut, Champo Verde High School, Arizona; Baily Armstrong, West Central Area High School; Bryce Jergenson, University of Minnesota, Morris; Melissa Whittemore, Concordia College at St. Paul; Becca Ayal ,St. Thomas; Sam Larson, Minnesota State University - Moorhead; Sam Hilbrand, Herman-Norcross High School; and Mitchell Heinrich, Alexandria Technical College.

The Threshing Bee royalty was part of the little Miss Cyrus pageant and in the Cyrus Days parade last weekend.

In weather news, temperatures continue to be very warm; some rain showers have been very welcome. Crops continue to look very good.
