Tickets for the 2019 University of Minnesota Morris Jazz Festival are on sale now. Join the UMN Morris jazz program as it celebrates one of America's first musical art forms, the Blues, on Friday, April 5.

The 41st UMN Morris Jazz Festival program will celebrate jazz's most important precursor: the Blues.

Guest artists include Matt Leder (trumpet), Scott Agster (trombone), Ryan Frane (piano), Pete James Johnson (drums), and Joey Pettit (bass). They will be joined on stage by the UMN Morris Jazz Ensemble 1, the West Central All-Stars Big Band, and the UMN Morris Alumni Jazzers Big Band.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Edson Auditorium, Student Center.

The UMN Morris Jazz Fest is a non-competitive festival open to middle- and high-school jazz big bands and combos. It provides area students with memorable and interactive jazz experiences, through masterclasses, instrument clinics, "meet the artist" sessions, and more.

MattTickets are on sale now for the Friday evening performance: $10 for general admission and $5 for students. Buy tickets at tickets.umn.e
