Wednesday, Dec. 5 appointed National Day of Mourning; federal offices will be closed, no mail delivery
President Trump appointed Wednesday, Dec. 5, as a National Day of Mourning to pay homage to the memory of President George H.W. Bush.
As such, USDA offices will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 5. Normal business hours will resume on Thursday, Dec. 6.
Additionally, there will be no mail delivery on Wednesday, Dec. 5 as post office retail and services will be closed.
The U.S.P.S. will provide limited package delivery service on that day to ensure that they don't run behind during the busy holiday season.
Most federal employees will be excused from work on Wednesday, according to the Office of Personnel Management.
