The BOLD Legion baseball team doesn’t need to win the District 7 tournament to advance to this year’s state tournament since, as host, the Mudhens get an automatic berth. But that doesn’t mean BOLD is content to get in the easy way. The Mudhens, comprised mostly of BOLD’s Class A prep state champions, rallied from a five-run deficit to overtake Morris 6-5 in a winners’ bracket game on Thursday. BOLD starter Riley Kramer surrendered all five Morris runs in the first two innings, then settled in nicely, shutting out the Post 29ers while he and the rest of the Mudhen offense chipped away
WILLMAR -- A Cyrus man has been charged with 12 felony counts of criminal sexual conduct for repeatedly having sex with a female relative between 1999 and 2011.
Hazardous driving conditions are reported on roads in western Minnesota, including Minnesota Highway 28, which has been closed from Sauk Centre to the South Dakota border. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, travel is not advised because of drifting snow. Earlier Friday, Highway 28 was closed between state Highway 9 in Morris to state Highway 114 because of drifting snow. Plows also have been pulled from several western Minnesota counties, including Stevens County. MnDOT is also reporting hazardous driving conditions on U.S.
WILLMAR -- Olga Marina Franco Del Cid was found guilty of all 24 counts, including criminal vehicular homicide, for driving a minivan that caused a school bus crash and killed four students near Cottonwood. The five-man, seven-woman jury comprised of Kandiyohi County residents returned the verdict just after 10 p.m. Wednesday night. Before the verdicts were read, Judge David W. Peterson instructed those assembled in the gallery that it was "absolutely essential" that they not express emotion or outbursts during the reading of the verdicts. The jury received the case just after 2 p.m.
