Morris Area Elementary School's kindergarten class presented a concert about the principal and the pea. The students told the story about a beloved principal who retired and the search to replace him. The students didn't want a principal who liked pea soup. They sang songs about how adults don't ask kids what they want in a principal and about how they don't like peas.
Carter Richard Pribbenow was born on June 1, 2017 at the Ortonville Area Hospital.
City crews do sweep the streets but Mads Horrigan wasn't looking to replace the city's street sweeper. Horrigan was pushing a vacuum she was borrowing to use inside a house. Horrigan and the vacuum across 4th Street at around 6 p.m. June 7.
Members of the Van Horn family of the Chokio and Alberta are fully aware of the importance of an event such as the Trails4Transplant ride that passed through Chokio, Alberta and Morris May 28.
The sound drew people to the railroad tracks in Morris on the afternoon of May 30. A steam engine was traveling down the tracks on its way to Breckenridge and the whistle was heard throughout Morris. And as the train pulled away from its stop, the whistle again sounded as the chug of steel and steam increased when the train pick up speed. The locomotive 261 pulled nostalgic railroad passenger cars on its way to an excursion event for the Red River Valley Railroad anniversary.

Not all students got to speak at the May 26 Morris Area High School graduation but plenty of them made a statement. They let the top of their graduation caps do the talking. While some students chose to let the audience know of their future college plans in decorations on the top of their graduation caps, others had comments about life or school written on the graduation caps. Bree McNally's cap was covered in greenish, purple and turquoise beads. Her mom decorated the cap, McNally said.

The "Super Six," as the group is called by school personnel, graduated from the sixth grade at St. Mary's School May 25. The "Super Six" is six students in the class: Ava Boyle, Patrick Feist, Matthew Giese, Meghan Goulet, Austin Phipps and Madison Staples. But back when they were younger, those kids called each other some different names for each other as Staples shared in a speech at graduation that night. In a name game at recess, those six kids had names such as "Old Grandpa Green Milk Carton," "Straw" and "Baby Boo Boo."
