HAYLEY ANNE SCHMALL was born on June 10, 2006 at Stevens Community Medical Center, Morris to Grant and Sarah Schmall of Elbow Lake. Hayley Anne weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Jerry and Audrey Schmall of Elbow Lake and LeRoy and Sheila Fahje of Alberta. Great grandparents are Mildred Orstad of Burnsville, formerly of Elbow Lake, and Lavon and Vera Lund of Danvers.
JAMES TYLER KILL was born on June 7, 2006 at Stevens Community Medical Center, Morris, to James and Paula Kill of Morris. James Tyler (JT) weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Ted and Barb Kill of Hancock, and Jim and Jackie Brown of Richfield, Idaho. Great grandparents are George and Lauretta Kill of Morris.
There's always been a debate about whether good pitching trumps good hitting in baseball. The Morris Area Tigers baseball team obviously has made a case for good pitching this season. But now, heading into the Class AA state tournament, the Tigers hitters are beginning to put doubts in the the minds of opposing pitchers about whether the opposite is true. By Sue Dieter Sun Tribune The 20 volunteer members of the Cyrus Fire Department are a trained and dedicated group of men working to provide fire protection and other emergency services for their community. As it turns out, they're fairly photogenic, as well. The 2007 Cyrus Fire Department calendar is now available, featuring photos of the active volunteer members as well as several retired fire fighters. The calendar is being sold as a fundraiser for the Cyrus Community Club.
