Pre-K: It was an eXcellent week in Prek this week! We learned all about the letter X. To learn the letter, we practiced tracing, made foxes, made an X painting, and learned about exciting feelings and excellent behavior. Our main focus was on x-rays, skeletons, and whats inside human bodies. Everyone made an x-ray book and watched a video about how x-rays worked. The class favorite was having our special guest come in to talk about his heart and the machines that keep it going. The kids loved feeling his pacemaker and really got a better understanding what the heart does.
The landscape has changed this past weekend. It is a very subtle change and yet change. The old telephone poles are all being removed and it is amazing how much I never noticed them when they were there but now that they are gone the horizon and sky suddenly appear much more open. I remember how those blue-green glass insulators were once a prized collector's item. I don't know if they are anymore but there certainly are an abundance of them lying in our railroad ditch.

Minnesota farmers got some good news this week when President Donald Trump decided to at least wait on the termination of the North American Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA. For much of the past two years Trump has railed against NAFTA saying it caused the loss of thousands of jobs in the U.S. as one reason to terminate it. But, while NAFTA has faults, it's also played a very important role in the U.S. agriculture economy. Minnesota is just one example.
