Morris Area FFA member Savannah Aanerud will represent Minnesota at the National FFA Convention in October in the extemporaneous speaking career development event. Aanerud earned first place at the state convention. She also earned first place in the Farm Bureau Discussion Meet. Morris Area FFA had many participants in the state convention. The chapter had individuals participate in Best Informed Greenhand, Extemporaneous Speaking, Discussion Meet, General Livestock Evaluation, Diary Evaluation, Meats Evaluation, Soils, Fish and Wildlife, Horse Evaluation, and Ag Issues.

As near as they figure, Jim Busenga and Ed Hockert have been Minnesota Vikings fans since 1967. They can easily recite players from the late 1960s into the early 1970s. Carl Eller, Alan Page, Jim Marshall were just a few. "Fran Tarkenton, he was the quarterback. It was a whole different era then," Hockert said. "Ed Cox was the kicker then."

The final event of the May 3 and 4 Minnesota Vikings take over of Morris was Friday morning at Morris Area High School. MAHS and Chokio-Alberta students heard more about the Minnesota Football Program of the Year and In The Game Award the MACA team received and also learned about the non-profit programs involved in the program.
