Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta remained undefeated with a straight-sets win over Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City on Tuesday, Sept. 12 in Morris. The Tigers downed the Falcons 25-8, 25-16, 25-13 in a match that was finished before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Jenna Howden led the game with 10 kills for the Tigers, while Karly Fehr had 23 assists and six kills. Jen Solvie added five and the Tigers served up 10 aces. Wednesday, September 13 College Womens Soccer UM-Morris vs UW-River Falls, 4 p.m.
Kaleb Koehl threw for 269 yards and rushed for 179 more, but Hancock came up short in a shootout against Rothsay on Friday, Sept. 8 in Hancock. The West Central Area boys and girls teams placed first at the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Invitational on Monday, Sept. 11. Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta boys team finished 12th while the girls team finished in sixth. Morris/C-A's Meredith Carrington place seventh individually. She was the only top 10 finisher for the Tiger varsity. Morris/C-A travels to Little Crow Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 14 for a meet hosted by New London-Spicer.
Hancock won the first two sets and held off an intense comeback from Ashby to win in a five-set battle Monday, Sept. 11 in Hancock. Tess Steiner and Lexi Staples led the Owls with four kills apiece, but it was defense that proved to be most dominant. Five Owls finished with double-digit digs, including Steiner, who finished with 28. The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tiger football team was able to put a tally in the win column Friday, Sept. 8. The Tigers beat Montevideo 41-15 in the Morris/C-A home opener at Big Cat Stadium. The Tigers continue their home season next Friday, Sept. 15 against A-C-GC.
