Employees of Riley Bros. construction have started a petition campaign in an attempt to convince government officials the company should be allowed to continue bidding on government construction jobs. The company currently is suspended from bidding on government contracts and could be debarred from bidding for between one year and three years.

Minnesota Department of Transportation and Burlington Northern Santa Fe workers will begin installing crossing signals and gates on Highway 28, west of Morris, on March 17. Expect minor traffic delays, MnDOT says.

Poor sewers and crumbling roads are just two of the reasons the City of Morris will rebuild East 2nd Street beginning next spring. The construction work will stretch from Atlantic Avenue to beyond the Regional Fitness Center.
