A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Douglas County Jail took place Monday morning. The jail will be located at the current site of the Douglas County Public Works office. At a special board meeting Tuesday, county commissioners voted 4-1 to sell bonds in the amount of $12.9 million to pay for the jail project.
