Dispatchers for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Alexandria Police Department may end up in two separate locations. Dispatchers, including Keith Polipnick (front) and Marilyn Peterson (back), answer 911 calls, as well as other calls that come in for the two agencies.

Construction crews worked on an addition that is being built on to the chalet at Andes Tower Hills. The addition will include 100 new indoor lockers and two banquet rooms for private parties, overflow and corporate events.

Woodland Elementary School, the newest school for Alexandria School District 206, will open its doors to students in grades K-6 next month. A community open house is set for next Tuesday, August 18 from 4 to 8 p.m.
