Tigers still alive in Section 3AA Softball, play Fairmont this afternoon

The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers got a taste of their own medicine Saturday when the girls were 10-run ruled by Pipestone in the Section 3AA softball tournament. However, the Tigers bounced back that afternoon shutting out Worthington 6-0 to stay alive.

The Tigers are working their way back through the loser’s bracket and face Fairmont today in Marshall at 5 p.m.

Pipestone scored in every inning to blow past Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 11-1.

Sadie Fischer had an RBI double in the first inning for the Tigers’ only run.

The Tigers put together two three-run innings, while holding Worthington scoreless, Saturday afternoon.

Abby Daly had a two-run single in the third to help the Tigers get on the board.

Abbie Olson was 3-for-4 with three RBIs as the Tigers added three more runs in the seventh.

McKenzie Van Batavia pitched a four-hit shutout, striking out nine and walking none.
