Tigers defet New London-Spicer at home

Karle Meyer pitches for the Tigers Monday at Chizek Field.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta extended its undefeated record to 7-0 with a home victory over New London-Spicer Monday.

The Tigers won lucky No. 7 Monday, defeating New London-Spicer 6-3.

A four-run fourth inning provided enough cushion to hold off the visiting Wildcats.

Six different Tigers collected hits. Tanner Picht, Tom Holland, Jacob Torgerson and Lincoln Berget each provided an RBI hit.

The Wildcats did outhit the Tigers 8-6, but six fielding errors led to three unearned runs off pitcher Lucas Nordmeyer, who didn’t walk a batter.

“The Tigers got a great start from junior Karle Meyer as he went 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win,” said Torgerson.  “Bryce Jergenson came in with one out in the seventh and shut the door on NL-S to earn the save.”
