Tiger golfers wrap up regular season

The Morris Area boys wrapped up the West Central Conference South boys' golf season with meets in Benson and Paynesville.

The Tigers finished the circuit in seventh place. Yellow Medicine East won the overall conference title, one point ahead of Benson/K-M-S.


The Tigers traveled to Benson Monday, May 17.

The Tigers finished sixth with a 184, led by Jordan Kolden's 41. Andrew Rentz carded a 44, Grant Gagner shot a 49, and Josh Taylor posted a 50. The other team scores were Tim Ostby's 51 and Alex Sinclair's 59.

Yellow Medicine East won the meet with 158. Benson/K-M-S came in second with 159.


The conference schedule concluded Tuesday at Koronis Hills Golf Club in Paynesville.

The Tigers took seventh with a 186. Kolden led the team with a 39. The team score also included Gagner's 45, Rentz's 49, and Taylor's 53. Sinclair shot a 55 and Zach Giese had a 58.

Benson and Yellow Medicine East both came in with a combined 160, but Benson was awarded first place with a lower fifth score.

Garett Thompson shot a 35 on his home course to earn the medalist honor.
