Tigers win their own softball invite

The Tigers won all three games Saturday at the Morris Area softball invitational.

The Tigers defeated Ortonville 9-4 and Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley 7-4, before winning against MACCRAY 5-1 in the championship.

Dani Schultz helped with a 7-for-10 effort, driving in four runs. Mary Rentz added four hits and two RBIs for the Tigers. Katie Holzheimer, Caroline Fritz, Hannah Sayles, Haley Henrichs, Holly Amundson, and Beth Holland had two hits apiece on the day.

Mackenzie Weatherly picked up two wins on the mound, allowing 16 hits and six runs, while striking out 13 and only walking two. McKenzie Van Batavia pitched five innings and was credited with the other win for Morris Area. She allowed only two hits and three runs.
