Tigers drop another baseball game

Montevideo overcame Morris Area 5-3 on Monday in West Central Conference South baseball at Chizek Field.

The win moved the Thunder Hawks into first place in the conference after Lac qui Parle Valley fell to Yellow Medicine East in 10 innings Monday.

Colton Vien stopped the Tigers on five hits, all coming in the second inning. He walked one and struck out nine.

The Thunder Hawks took the lead with a three-run rally in the sixth-inning. Two errors pushed in the tying run that made it 3-3.

The Tigers went up 3-1 in the second on consecutive RBI singles by Tanner Rohloff, Tyler Hansen, and Tanner Berning.

Losing pitcher Matt Lembcke pitched a complete-game, allowing eight hits with four walks and four strikeouts for Morris.
