Tigers win WCC-North

Morris/Chokio-Alberta won the West Central North Conference championship with a 12-8 victory over ACGC on Friday.

The Tigers’ Lauren Reimers hit her 10th home run of the season and she also tripled and finished with four runs batted in.

Becca Holland was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, and Chelsey Ehleringer was 3-for-4 and drove in two runs.

Kayla Pring got the win and Brooke Gillespie pitched three innings in relief.

Morris/C-A finished 11-2 in the conference, a game ahead of Minnewaska. The Tigers are 15-5 overall and they open Section 3AA play at home against Minneota/Canby at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 20.

Benson/Hancock plays Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop at the same site at 4:30 p.m.

The two losers are eliminated and the winners play at 6 p.m. in Morris.
