Tigers maul the Braves

The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers mauled the Benson Braves in Benson last Friday, Jan. 17, outshooting the Braves by almost double, getting off 85 shots in the win.

Sophomore guard Becca Holland ended the night with a double double with 14 points and 12 assists to lead the Tigers.

Beth Holland added 11 points and Lauren Reimers had double digits as well with 10. Reimers also had seven assists and three steals for the Tigers.

Hannah Ricard scored a season-best 17 for the Braves.

The B-squad didn’t get off to a great start against Benson, who was ahead by one at 30-29 into the break. The Tiger B-squad defense showed up during the second half and allowed just 15 points for Benson, taking the victory 74-45 over the Braves and improving their still undefeated record to 13-0.

The next game for the Tigers will be Thursday, Jan. 23 when they host Sauk Centre at home. Another home meeting on Friday, Jan. 24 when the Tigers tip off against Ortonville.
