Tiger girls sink Melrose

On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tiger girls basketball team traveled into Dutchmen territory to take on Melrose.

The conference matchup was close with neither team taking a huge lead in the first half. The Tigers trailed by one point at halftime, 24-23.

The Tigers came out on fire after the halftime break, going on several strong runs to get the lead back. The Tigers held a solid 11 point lead with 2:30 left in the game, but Melrose didn’t let up. Then the Tigers capitalized after a Melrose turnover for the final score 56-51.

The Tigers will now host Litchfield on Thursday, Dec. 19 and will be back in their home gym on Friday, Dec. 20 for a matchup against Paynesville Area.
