Tiger girls win season opener

The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers opened their season winning handily on the road in Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 64-46 on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Beth Holland led the Tigers with 22 points.

Lauren Reimers and Abbie Olson had 12 points apiece. Reimers also added six rebounds, four assists and eight steals in the win.

Becca Holland contributed with eight points, six rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.

Tracy Meichsner aided the Tigers win their first win with two points and eight rebounds.

The B-squad also won their contest against Wheaton/H-N 50-30.

The second half full court pressure proved to be too much for Wheaton/H-N and resulted in turnovers and fast break layups for the Tiger B-squad.

Leading the B-squad was Piper Gibson and Lacee Maanum both contributing nine points in the win. Gibson also added had 12 rebounds.

The Tigers will now host Osakis in their home opener on Thursday, Dec. 5.
