Storm boys settle for 3-3 tie

Morris Benson Area hosted Luverne Saturday and had to settle for a 3-3 tie.

Trailing 1-0 after two periods, Luverne outscored the Storm 3-2 in a wild third period to send it into overtime.

The Cardinals put nine shots on the Storm net in the extra minutes, but goalie Matt Huot was flawless and the game ended in a tie.

Luke Schwarz scored the only goal of the first period on an assist from Darion Helberg.

After the Cardinals went up 2-1 in the third, Kelly Engquist tied it up for the Storm with a power-play goal off an assist from Jordan Staples.

Mac Beyer gave the Storm the lead with another power-play goal from Engquist's assist.
