Tigers outshoot Storm in win

The Morris Benson Area Storm played a close game against the Marshall Tigers on Friday, Jan. 17. That was up until the third period when Marshall scored three goals to secure a 4-1 victory over the Storm boys. Marshall outshot the Storm 43-19 in the win.

The aggressive Storm boys spent 11 minutes in the penalty box, including a five minute boarding major for Bo Olson. After those 11 minutes, and well into the third period, the Storm trailed 3-0. Corey Storck tried to get a rally started when he scored the lone goal for the Storm off a Corey Goff and Olson assist. No such luck for the Storm on Friday night as the Marshall Tigers answered with a goal of their own less than a minute after to secure the 4-1 win over the Storm.

The Storm has another back-to-back-to-back schedule coming up due to postponements and rescheduled games. On Thursday, Jan. 23, the boys travel to Redwood to face off against the Cardinals in a rescheduled game from Jan. 7. Then in another rescheduled match up from Saturday, Jan. 18, the Storm hosts Worthington in Morris at 7 p.m. The storm will be back to their normal schedule on Saturday, Jan. 25 as they host the powerhouse of Luverne in a boys and girls double header in Benson. The JV boys will face off at 11 a.m., and the varsity will follow at 1 p.m.
