Eagles soar past the Storm girls

The Morris Benson Area Storm girls faced the Windom Area Eagles for the second time this season. The Storm pulled out a 4-3 OT victory during their first outing on the ice with Windom, but this time the Storm girls weren’t so lucky. The Eagles beat the Storm 4-2 for their second win on the season.

Nicole Berens scored the two goals for the Storm, scoring unassisted in the first period and scoring in the third period on an assist from Morgan DeHaan.

Storm goalie Holli Christians made 19 saves with the loss, and offensively, the Storm had 42 shots on net, much higher than previous games this season.

The Storm, now 2-9, is looking for a repeat victory against Lake of the Woods on Friday, Jan .17. The Storm will host LOW at the Lee Community Center in Morris with the puck dropping at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 18, the girls and boys partake in a double header against the Worthington varsity squads in Morris.
